Participation profile of the young people in the country groups
Formal criteria:
- 15 to 25 years old
- English-speaking
- from the programme countries of the YOUTH Programme (25 EU Member States, EFTA-countries as well as Bulgaria, Rumania and Turkey) as well as from Member States of the Council of Europe if possible, including participants to the conference “Youth for Tolerance and Democracy“ in 2001
Criteria in terms of experience:
young people
- who in their countries are actively involved in anti-racism/anti-discrimination work and who can prove it, or
- who are involved in their countries in non-formal anti-discrimination/anti-racism education, or
who are interested in establishing networks for the different national approaches of youth work in the field of anti-discrimination/anti-racism work and developing them further on a European level, or - who are interested in presenting their projects/working approaches/education concepts, if related to the conference subject, during the conference (project market), or
- whose projects in the field of anti-discrimination/anti-racism work were carried out and promoted in the framework of the European Youth Programme
- who are interested in the development of a declaration and an action plan of young people against racism/discrimination and
- who are prepared to contribute to the implementation of the action plan after the conference in their own countries.
Participation profile of the experts in the country groups
Formal criteria:
Experts in youth welfare services and youth work who offer non-formal anti-discrimination/anti-racism education
Experts of anti-discrimination/anti-racism work who are experienced in the area of non-formal education
Policy-makers of the local/regional levels who in their countries support anti-discrimination/anti-racism work and who can prove it
- who speak English
- from the programme countries of the YOUTH Programme (25 EU Member States, EFTA-countries as well as Bulgaria, Rumania and Turkey) as well as from Member States of the Council of Europe
- if possible, have already participated in the conference “Youth for Tolerance and Democracy“ in 2001
Criteria in terms of experience:
- who are interested in exchange with active young people on the subject of anti-discrimination/anti-racism work;
- who are professionally involved, that is
- who are interested in establishing networks for the different national, regional and local approaches of the youth welfare services and youth work in the field of anti-discrimination/anti-racism work and developing them further at European level, or
- who are interested in the development of a declaration and an action plan of young people against racism/discrimination, or
- who are interested in presenting their projects/working approaches/education concepts, if related to the conference subject, during the conference (market of possibilities), or
- whose projects in the field of anti-discrimination/anti-racism work were carried out and promoted in the framework of the European Youth programme and
- who are prepared to contribute to the implementation of the action plan after the conference in their own countries.
General Criteria
The participants shall be chosen so that there is a balance among
- men and women
- experts on youth welfare services, experts of anti-discrimination/anti-racism work and political decision-makers
- young people who have a special interest in
the development of a political declaration
an exchange of experience and networking
and the ability to contribute to the implementation of the action plan after the conference in their own countries.We will pay special attention to the participation of minorities. The participation of young people will have preference over that of experts.
