I PROJECT OBJECTIVES:
1) Short-term:
The main objective of the proposed project is to instruct children on basic principles of Democracy and Human Rights and attract them to the process of civil society building in Azerbaijan. For this purpose it is supposed to hold 3 hours training on Civic Education in 50 secondary schools and disseminate the self-guide on the topic among the schoolchildren of those schools (the book will be published within the project frame).
Thus, the project realization will certainly contribute to the establishment of democratic society, the young citizens of which are taught democracy and human rights since the childhood.
2) Long-term:
The proposed project is the first step in the whole range of future activity of the NAYORA, which will be devoted to educating the younger generation of Azerbaijan about democracy and human rights. The guide, to be published within this project is supposed to be published later in a larger circulation and be disseminated all over the republic. Besides, the volunteers of the NAYORA are planning to hold similar instructional seminars/trainings in other schools of Azerbaijan (including regions, too).
II. PROJECT ACTIVITIES:

The project will cover 12 months from the time of financing and will be realized in 3 phases:

a) The first phase is the preparatory one, which will cover first 3 months of project realization. The following works will be carried out in this period:
• To determine the schools for holding the training – by sampling with the term to cover of Baku and Gandja cities, Evlakh, Shamakha and Gakh districts (50 schools);
• To prepare and publish the brochure on Democracy and Human Rights (in Azeri; in the circulation of 7.500);
• To hold organizational and technical works for holding training, arranging date of training, etc.
b) The second phase – will cover 8 next months of project realization. This period will be basically for holding training in the schools (50 schools). It is supposed to hold training among the children of 8-11-th grades, i.e. approximately 150 children in every school;
c) The third phase – will cover the last – 12-th month of the project implementation. This period will be devoted to collecting suggestions, complaints, results of the project realization, which will be reflected in the final report. There will be included the information about the children’s acceptance of democracy and human rights, their understanding and results of the held training. The monitoring, to be held at the end of the training, will reveal the truth about “The Democracy through the Children’s Vision” and all the relevant information will be attached to report as well.

There will be prepared the detailed report (both narrative and financial) on the project realization in this month, too.

Plans for disseminating any publications:
The self-guide for children on “Civic Education” will be distributed among the training participants during the training (each child will get a copy of the guide).
